Lefferts Manor Bed and Breakfast

Good friends of ours have partnered with us and opened up their townhouses in the wonderful neighborhood of Fort Greene.  All of our units are in owner-occupied private homes, though separated from the host families.  Four of our units are on Washington Park, a unique 2-block long street between DeKalb and Myrtle Avenues along the top of historic Fort Greene Park.  Formerly a gated, private street for gilded age lords and magnates, most of the buildings were originally private homes built in the 1870's.  The other apartment is a few blocks away in the heart of Fort Greene's shop and restaurant row, at Clermont and DeKalb Avenues.  This historic setting is also just blocks to downtown Brooklyn trains, minutes to Manhattan and a 15 minute walk to the Brooklyn Bridge and Pratt Institute.

The Fort Greene neighborhood is also known for its landmark architecture, hip restaurants and shops, Brooklyn Academy of Music theaters and stage and much more.

Our apartments all feature historic details, tasteful decor and simple, uncluttered elegance.  Some have private bathrooms and fully equipped kitchens.  1870's details including decorative fireplaces, parquet flooring and wood and plaster moldings throughout.  The Washington and The Carlton, can be rented combined for a family or group with a capacity of 5 including the day bed in the den, or as two separate suites with a shared bathroom in the center, accessible through a common, lockable hallway. 

The Vanderbilt is a charming private studio nestled quietly in the upper top of the home, it features a fully equipped kitchen and private bathroom.

The Lafayette is a grand floor-through apartment on the garden level with a full kitchen, private bathroom and optional 4-person capacity with an optional extra bedroom.

The Clermont is a full one-bedroom apartment on the garden level with a massive eat-in kitchen and full back yard with deck.  Just steps to gourment food markets, shops and restaurants in the center of Fort Greene.

The Washington Suite

This wonderful two-room suite is a wall of windows facing Fort Greene Park. A grand main bedroom is adjoined by a cozy den with an Indian hand-carved teak day bed.

In the back of the house this quaint efficiency apartment features a lovely queen bed room with an adjacent full kitchen. A reading chair next to the fireplace and a small breakfast table make this suite feel like a complete apartment on its own.

Our most tastefully appointed accommodation, this queen bedroom has it's own garden-level entrance and features high-end fixtures and furnishings including Duravit toilet and sink, in-room glass shower enclosure, ultra-comfort mattress and leather couch as well as central air. Historic details include plaster and wood moldings, original 1870's fireplace, window shutters and hardwood floor. Also includes use of beautiful back yard deck (share with owner) and limited kitchen area access as well. PLEASE NOTE: The owner also has a lovely Toy Fox Terrier, which is a very small, obedient, short-haired dog (see pic below).
